More than 1,000 people were evacuated from Terengganu and Kelantan as well as central Pahang which borders the other two states early this week.
"The water in the main rivers exceeded the danger level last night but has now subsided as the rain has stopped and the weather has been clear since last night," he said.
A meteorological department spokesman told the heavy rains that hit the Kelantan and Terengganu earlier this week had stopped and that only intermittent rainfall was expected over the next few days.
